Brief History

Inspired by Sri Mannam's autobiography, a group of dedicated followers formed N.S.S. Kuwait in January 2001 at Fahaheel, Kuwait. The plight of the suffering, poor and needy labourers especially from nair community, living in camps in the Kuwait deserts also fired a new zeal in the hearts to start N.S.S. in Kuwait.

Initially it started collecting membership forms and by April end 2001 an initial meeting was held, but out of 50 invited, only 7 members attended and they are Chandrasekhara Kurup C.K, Rajesh K.R, Omanakuttan S, Ullaskumar P.S., Venugopal. K, Narayanan Kartha K.A, Rajasekharan Pillai. G, .However, it continued adding members to the organization and in October 2001 the second meeting was held with 53 members at Fahaheel Gulf Indian School and an Adhoc committee was formed.

Thereafter the Executive committee visited all the areas of Kuwait including the labour camps and conducted several area meetings. With a strong belief in NSS as our GOD & GODESS, all members devoted themselves wholeheartedly towards our goal of strengthening "NSS" in KUWAIT

In February 2002, the organization was registered with Indian Embassy Kuwait. By July 2002, organization's strength grew to 650 and on 18 July 2002 Sri P.K. Narayana Panicker, Hon. General Secretary of Nair Service Society, Kerala officially inaugurated NSS Kuwait, at Central school auditorium Abbasiya and the function was attended by a very huge gathering of about 1000 members. This unprecedented support from the Nair community in Kuwait , Sri. P.K. Narayana Panicker's and other NSS director board members encouragement helped to venture into and engage in so many projects for social-uplift.

Personnels including Sri. C.K.C Kurup, Sri. K.R. Rajesh, Sri. P.S. Ullas Kumar, Sri. K.P. Vijaya Kumar, and Sri. K. Venugopal played a major role in the begining to uplift and attain the success behind NSS Kuwait:

From July 2002 onwards, NSS Kuwaits activities focused on its mission.  To accomplish the core objective, Unity through systematic teamwork and Fulfillment of Societys need, adopted and succeeded several strategies.

In retrospect, NSS Kuwait had a very strong and ambitious past which periodically had to encounter malevolent elements and filter them out from our family, resulting in an Altruistic core organization. A strict vigil is still being maintained on a continuous basis for maintaining the high standards of the group. NSS Kuwait take this opportunity to earnestly thank each and every one for your sincere support to strengthen the NSS Kuwait activities and also express heartfelt gratitude to all who have contributed directly or indirectly to the growth of N.S.S
